On May 27, our city held a leading group meeting on pension services, learning and implementing the "Opinions of the general office of the State Council on promoting the development of pension services" (GBF [2019] No. 5) and the relevant spirit of the 47th executive meeting of the municipal government, summarizing work experience, and arranging and deploying tasks for the next stage. Xu Huaihao, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Vice Mayor, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
In recent years, our city has always regarded the reform and development of pension service and the construction of pension service system as an important work for people's livelihood, and has basically formed a pension service system that is coordinated by home-based community institutions and combined with medical care, health care and maintenance. At present, there are 796000 people aged 60 and over in the city, accounting for 15 percent of the total population. The aging population is characterized by aging, empty nest and high disability rate.
This year, our city has formulated the task list for the reform of home-based and community-based pension service, and carried out the pilot reform from ten aspects, including the integrated development project of pension and the quality improvement and transformation project of nursing homes, so as to comprehensively promote the development of our city's pension service.

Xu Huaihao pointed out that we should recognize the current situation, enhance the sense of urgency and mission for the development of the pension service, improve the awareness of the current situation that the city's pension service is still in its infancy and the level of development remains to be improved; comprehensively promote the benchmarking and deepen the coordinated development of pension service; adhere to the general principles of Party committee leadership, government leadership and social participation, promote the improvement of the pension service system, which is coordinated by home-based community institutions and combined with medical care and health care, and promote the socialization, marketization and industrialization of the pension service industry; lay a solid foundation for the system, improve the security for the development of pension services, earnestly strengthen organizational leadership, conscientiously implement responsibilities, and strengthen supervision, so as to make contributions to building a new highland for the economic and social development of our city.
