At the site of press conference

On the afternoon of June 4, our city held a press conference to release the ecological environment of Chenzhou in 2019 and solemnly commemorate the "6.5" World Environment Day.

The reporter learned from the press conference that in 2019, the number of excellent days of urban ambient air quality was 343, with an excellent rate of 94.0 percent. Compared with 2018, it increased by 15 days, up 4.1 percent. The number of days without serious pollution throughout the year, and the concentration of main air pollution indicators such as fine particles, inhalable particles, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide and ozone met the national secondary standard.

In addition, the ambient air quality of 11 counties (cities and districts) in the city has improved compared with that in 2018. According to the evaluation of the comprehensive index of ambient air quality, the ranking of the ambient air quality of each county (city and district) is Guidong, Rucheng, Linwu, Anren, Jiahe, Yongxing, Guiyang, Yizhang, Zixing, Suxian and Beihu. The overall surface water quality of the city is excellent. Of the 38 assessment and evaluation sections, 36 are of class 1-3 water quality, and the excellent rate of water quality is 94.7 percent. The standard rate of water source and water quantity of the city's 11 centralized drinking water source areas above the county level is 100 percent. The average annual water quality of the 11 water source areas meets or exceeds the class 2 standard. The average equivalent sound level of road traffic noise in the city and 9 counties (cities and districts) in the daytime is 58.9-69.3 decibels, which meets the national standard. The average equivalent sound level in the city in the daytime and at night is not over the standard.

Chen Yihua, Party Secretary and Director of the Municipal Bureau of Ecological Environment, introduced at the conference that in 2019, our city made solid progress in various ecological environment work, made significant progress in pollution control in key areas, basins and fields, completed the annual rectification task of the feedback problems of environmental protection supervision in China and Guangdong Province, and successfully completed the task of highlighting ecological environment problems and pollution prevention and control in the Yangtze River Economic Belt. Chenzhou City has won the "2019 Bluesky Award for Global Pioneer Cities of Green and Low Carbon Development" under the guidance of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, and 14 water pollution prevention and control projects have been steadily promoted. We have overfulfilled the task of environmental improvement in 201 villages dealing with domestic sewage and 18 administrative villages. The city received 531 noise complaints in the whole year, with a completion rate of 100 percent. 139 cases of various illegal behaviors have been filed and investigated, forming a high-pressure situation of cracking down on illegal behaviors of ecological environment. In general, the ecological environment quality of the city has been further improved.
