On June 12, Chenzhou No.11 Primary School launched the theme activity of intangible cultural heritage into the campus. Under the guidance of He Lusheng, the inheritor of Anren rice sculpture, and Kuang Xiaohua, the art teacher, the students learned to make Anren rice sculpture to inherit and carry forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture.
It was reported that June 13 is the 15th "Cultural and Natural Heritage Day" in China. For thousands of years, people in Anren have made rice sculptures during the Lantern Festival (after special processing of rice flour, rice flour is molded into a variety of animals, locally known as "Zhuji Po") to commemorate the sacred virtue of Shennong's invention of farming culture, offer sacrifices to Shennong, and pray for the harvest and prosperity. In 2012, Anren rice sculpture was listed as the third batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage in Hunan.
