A few days ago, the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the State Administration of Cultural Relics announced the list of counties in the second batch of revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization areas. Rucheng, Guiyang, Yizhang, Jiahe and Linwu counties of our city were listed on the list and included in the long march area (red front army).

It was understood that the list of the second batch of revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization areas is mainly based on the Anti Japanese base areas during the Anti Japanese War, taking into account the revolutionary historical facts of the Red Army's Long March, the West Route Army and the Northeast Anti Japanese United Army, and the revolutionary activities of the people in Tibet and Xinjiang under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. The list is based on the revolutionary historical facts, with the Party history documents as the reference and the revolutionary cultural relics as the basis. There are 22 districts and 988 counties in total. Among them, 10 cities (prefectures) and 35 counties (cities and districts) in Hunan Province are included in the long march area (red first front army), long march area (red second front army), Hunan Hubei Jiangxi area and Hubei Henan Anhui area.

In March 2019, China announced the "list of counties in the first batch of national revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization areas", and identified 15 revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization areas. 9 counties (cities and districts) of Rucheng, Beihu, Suxian, Guiyang, Yizhang, Yongxing, Guidong, Anren and Zixing are listed in Xianggan area.

According to the circular, all relevant localities and departments should focus on promoting the centralized and contiguous protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics, establish a cooperative mechanism, form an overall joint force, and continuously improve the protection and utilization level of revolutionary cultural relics; should give better play to the importance of revolutionary cultural relics resources in carrying forward the revolutionary spirit, inheriting the red gene, promoting economic and social development, and realizing the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation effect.
