Zixing Qijia River Beishan Wind Farm Expected to be Connected

2020-08-07

As one of the key construction projects in Chenzhou City, the Qijia River Beishan wind power project of China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) Hunan branch company has overcome various difficulties since its official commencement on November 20, 2019. Up to now, three wind turbines have been installed, and it is expected that the project can be fully connected to the grid by the end of this year.

Qijia River Beishan Wind Farm in Chenzhou is located in Yongxing County and Zixing City. It is a mountainous wind farm with an altitude of 1000-1300 meters. The effective ridge length of the site area is about 29 kilometers, and the total area of the site is about 67.2 square kilometers. It is planned to install 52 wind turbines, which is the largest single wind power project in Hunan Province.

Ai Yangxi, project leader of Qijia River Beishan Wind Farm, said: "after Qijia wind farm is put into operation, it is estimated that the annual power generation will be 240 million KWH, which can save more than 77000 tons of standard coal and reduce 184,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions."

In order to transport large-scale equipment, the construction unit built a 44 km long and 5 m wide road, and adopted the way of setting more scattered drainage culverts to solve the problem of road collapse caused by rain erosion. This road also provides convenience for the production and life of local villagers.

Ai Yangxi, the project leader of Qijia River Beishan Wind Farm, said: "after the road is repaired, villagers can directly drag the bamboo down by car, which improves efficiency and reduces labor costs."

It was understood that each fan column here is 5 meters in diameter and 100 meters in height. It is divided into 5 sections, with a total weight of about 300 tons. It takes about 4 days to install a fan.
