On the morning of November 21, the first annual meeting of plant physiology society of five provinces in central and southern China was held in our city. Xu Zhihong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, academician of the Third World Academy of Sciences and former president of Peking University, announced the opening of the meeting, and Liu Zhiren, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, delivered a speech.

The joint annual meeting of plant physiology societies of central and southern China was jointly sponsored by the plant physiology societies of Hunan, Hubei, Henan, Jiangxi and Guangdong provinces. It is a high-level academic research and production exchange platform in the field of plant physiology in central and southern China. The main purpose of the conference is to ensure food security, promote green development, build ecological civilization and help rural revitalization. The theme of the first joint annual conference of plant physiology societies of five provinces in central and southern China is "Plant Physiology and Rural Revitalization". During the annual meeting, several academic conferences will be held to exchange the latest research progress.

The theme of this annual meeting was determined as "Plant Physiology and Rural Revitalization". The theme of this annual academic meeting is highly targeted, instructive and operable, with great academic value and practical significance. It will become an excellent example of the combination of macro strategy and academic research, the combination of theoretical innovation and grassroots practice, the combination of accelerating the transformation of achievements and supporting local development. Let us join hands and adhere to the guidance of new socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics and ecological civilization.
