In order to further improve the technical level of primary total hip arthroplasty through direct anterior approach (DAA) in Chenzhou area, the first DAA total hip arthroplasty course sponsored by the orthopedics department of the Fourth People's Hospital of Chenzhou City was held recently. It was hoped to take this class as an opportunity to contribute to the promotion of minimally invasive direct anterior approach for hip arthroplasty and benefit more patients.

From December 4 to 5, the DAA first total hip arthroplasty class was held by the orthopedics department of Chenzhou Fourth People's hospital.

Li Pingyue, Professor of the Southern Theater General Hospital, Cheng Peng, Professor of the First Affiliated Hospital of the University of Science and Technology of China, and expert professors from the People's Hospital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region were invited to give lectures.

Li Pingyue delivered a speech on behalf of the experts. He introduced the technology of hip joint DAA in supine position from the aspects of anatomy and operation skills. Cheng Peng explained the DAA technology of lateral position for the participants, focusing on the advantages of this new technology.

Li Pingyue and Cheng Peng also demonstrated the position, the exposure of incision, the cooperation of assistants, and the key points and difficulties of operation by live operation. They also actively interacted with the meeting site, so that the participants could understand the operation skills of DAA new technology intuitively and deeply. Li Shuzhen, Professor of the People's Hospital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, explained in detail the exposure of femoral side of DAA, which is the key and difficult point in DAA operation.

Tan Yichang, Director of Orthopedic Department of the Fourth People's Hospital of Chenzhou City, shared his experience and lessons in the practice of lateral position DAA surgery with the participants, so that we can learn and apply the new technology less detours, so as to master the new technology more quickly and skillfully.

The DAA first total hip arthroplasty learning class also was broadcast live in China through the good medical live broadcast platform, which is of great significance to promote academic exchanges in a wider range and further promote the popularization of DAA new technology.
