On March 15, the construction site of Beihu Airport section of the fourth bid section of Dongjiang water diversion phase II project was very busy, including surveying, cutting, hoisting and welding. Workers from civil engineering company of China Construction Fifth Bureau were connecting pipes.

"At present, except for some underground pipelines with obstacles in the fourth bid section, other sections have been connected and the roads have been hardened one after another." Yang Guang, who is welding pipes, is a welder from Suizhou, Hubei Province. He used to work in Guangdong shipyard. Last year, under the introduction of friends, he and four fellow villagers participated in the construction of Dongjiang water diversion phase II project.

Yang Guang said that pipeline welding is a technical activity, especially for large-diameter water supply pipeline, to weld smoothly and seamless, every step needs to be careful and keep improving. After welding, it is necessary to ask professional personnel for ultrasonic testing to ensure the quality. In order to overcome the problem that it is not suitable to lay pipe by excavating road surface in some sections of urban area, Chendian International has gathered the operation team with rich experience and advanced equipment in the field of national pipe jacking technology to carry out the operation.

Dongjiang water diversion phase II project is a major livelihood project undertaken by Chendian International, with a total investment of about 1.3 billion yuan. In addition to the expansion of a water treatment plant with a capacity of 300000 tons / day, a 71.4km water pipeline from Xinghong Water Plant to Guiyang County will be laid. Along the way, three regulating pools and two booster pump stations will be built. After the completion of the project, residents of Xicheng District, Beihu Airport, Guiyang County and nearly 10 towns along the way will use Dongjiang water.
