The opening ceremony of science and technology week was held in Nanling Botanical Garden, Chenzhou on May 22, when the activity of technicians providing services in grassroots communities and about International Day for Biological Diversity was also carried out.

This activity aims to give a full display of the scientific and technological innovations in Chenzhou, so as to carry forward scientific spirit, popularize scientific knowledge, promote the coordinated development of scientific and technological innovation and popularization, and enable people to benefit from it.

14 bases including Four Season Fruit Popular Science Base, which have been identified as bases of scientific and technological innovation and popularization in Chenzhou in 2021, as well as 4 representatives including Lei Yingyi, who won prizes in 2021 Chenzhou Popular Science Competition, were awarded. Besides, the authors who won the first Chenzhou Excellent Popular Science Work Prize, and 8 units including Chenzhou Vocational Technical College which won Excellent Organization Prize received honorary certificates.
