On June 21, the second commencement ceremony of major projects in Chenzhou city in 2021 was held.
The event was held in one main venue and other 10 sub-venues in counties (county-level cities and districts) in Chenzhou City. At the commencement ceremony, a total of 126 projects were launched, with a total investment of 34.3 billion RMB (5.3 billion U.S. dollars) and an annual planned investment of 14.8 billion RMB (2.3 billion U.S. dollars). Among them, there are seven projects with a total investment of over one billion RMB (154 million U.S. dollars), mainly including industrial development projects, infrastructure projects, social and livelihood projects, ecological and environmental protection projects, etc.
In terms of quantity, the number of projects ranks third in the province, only behind Changsha City and Xiangtan City, maintaining a steady growth. In terms of investment areas, industrial development projects account for a large share. There are 97 industrial development projects, with an annual investment of 12.3 billion RMB (1.9 billion U.S. dollars), accounting for 77% and 83% of the total number of projects and the annual investment respectively. In terms of regional differences, the trend of balanced development is evident. The number of projects in the 13 counties (county-level cities and districts) and parks in Chenzhou City has a small gap. In terms of structure, social investment accounted for 88%, representing the dominant force in project investment. In this commencement ceremony, there are both government-led infrastructure and public service projects, as well as industrial and science and technology innovation projects funded by social capital, and there are both projects of local enterprises and leading domestic enterprises.
In the main venue, there are 24 projects with a total investment of 8.721 billion RMB (1.35 billion U.S. dollars), including the 220 kV transmission project of Chenzhou East 500 kV substation, Oriental Yuhong’s green building materials production base, Wanhua Eco-technology’s New Home Furnishing Smart Manufacturing Industrial Park, the harmless treatment project of kitchen waste, and Hongwang Modern Integrated Ecological Farm.
