On July 8, a golden plum competition was held in Chukou Town, Zixing City. 12 villagers presented the plums they planted in the competition, which were graded by experts.   

In recent years, based on the principle of prioritizing the protection of Dongjiang Lake and ecological green development, Zixing City has encouraged people in the Dongjiang reservoir area to plant organic fruits such as honey tangerines and golden plums. At present, a total of nearly 200,000 mu (13,333 hectares) of fruits are grown in the reservoir area, with an annual output of 280,000 tons and an annual output value of over 1.5 billion yuan (231.15 million US dollars).
