Jiahe County cultivates talent for foundry industry

A group of outstanding students from the Vocational Secondary Professional School in Jiahe County, Chenzhou City, Hunan Province were selected out to attend a casting training session on July 26. After the training, these students will be sent to work and get practical experience in enterprises in Tantang Industrial Park. This move not only helps cultivate talents for the foundry industry in Jiahe County, but also provides a platform for students to master a practical skill.

 

In recent years, based on the traditional advantages of the foundry industry, Jiahe County has been promoting the high-quality development of the foundry industry and the high-quality employment and entrepreneurship of workers. Through a number of measures such as government guidance, association coordination, enterprise participation, policy support, skills training and follow-up services, Jiahe County has cultivated a high-quality workforce in the foundry industry.
 
As the foundry industry is an industry that requires both technical experience and innovation, Jiahe County always puts technical training and talent training in the first place, in order to enhance the competitiveness and influence of the brand "Hunan Foundry Artisan". Jiahe County is committed to government guidance, association coordination, market orientation, enterprise participation, in order to build a vocational and technical training system featuring the coordinated efforts of the government, enterprises, universities, research institutions and consumers.
 
In addition to the traditional apprenticeship training, Jiahe County also integrated various resources and funds such as employment service centers, poverty alleviation, vocational education and associations to provide higher quality technical training. For example, it invested more than 200 million yuan (30.78 million US dollars) to build Jiahe County Vocational Secondary Professional School and the "Jiangnan Foundry Capital" Education and Training Base, invested more than 30 million yuan (4.62 million US dollars) to build the Enterprise Service Center, Product Quality Testing and Inspection Center, and Staff Training Center.
 
Meanwhile, with the support of the China Foundry Association and Hunan Foundry Association, Jiahe County organized experts to carry out technical support and training in the workshops. Since 2018, more than 180 people have obtained college or bachelor's degree in related fields of foundry Industry, further improving the cultural literacy and professional skills of employees.
 
At present, there are 100,000 casting workers in Jiahe County, including 46,000 skilled workers, making it the cradle of casting talents in the south of Yangtze River.
