Volunteers help farmers sell pears

2021-08-05
On the afternoon of August 3, the Fudi Volunteer Association of Suxian District of Chenzhou City helped farmers from Dakuishang Township to sell sand pears.

This year, the fruit farmers of Dakuishang Township received a bumper harvest of sand pear. However, due to the lack of labor to pick and transport the pears and the impact of the pandemic, about 6,000 kilograms of sand pears were left unsold.

According to Li Yanlan, the President of Fudi Volunteer Association, the association has been helping Dakuishang Township to sell the slow-selling fruits and vegetables for several years. This time, the fruit farmers are seeking help from the association to sell sand pears.

After learning the difficulties of the fruit farmers, the association encouraged the members and their relatives to buy sand pears. At the same time, they also sell these pears via online platforms such as E-shop, WeChat, and TikTok.

"Helping farmers sell their fruit is a win-win situation. On the one hand, it helps the farmers sell the fruits; on the other hand, it also allows the public to buy fresh local fruits." Li Yanlan said. She called on the public to buy the pears and help the fruit farmers out of their difficulties.
