On August 3, a truck loaded with 18 tons of vegetables and rice drove from Chenzhou City to Wulingyuan District of Zhangjiajie City. The truck of supplies was raised by Zeng Xianguo, a village doctor who is known as National Model Worker, National Outstanding CPC Member, National Moral Model Nominee, Good Person of China, and Hunan Provincial Moral Model.

 

 

 

At noon on July 31, Zeng Xianguo saw a message from Zhangjiajie's model worker Yuan Mouwen on the WeChat, saying, "My hometown is struggling to fight the pandemic. Please give us support and help!" Upon seeing this relief message, Zeng Xianguo recalled the outbreak of the pandemic in Wuhan at the beginning of 2020 and his own experience of fighting the pandemic for 89 days. Therefore, he immediately started raising supplies to support Zhangjiajie.

 

He has received support from many people who are also passionate about public welfare, including his friend Cao Yongming, a villager Huang Guanghai, 70 employees of Yongxing County Junfeng Machinery Parts Co., Ltd., Party members of Yongxing County New Generation Innovation and Entrepreneurship Party Branch, and other caring people such as Cao Jianguo, Cao Jiquan, Lin Hui, Quan Weiqing, Wang Jie and Luo Yonghua. 

 

 

 

In addition, the donation was also supported by the Yongxing County Federation of Trade Unions, Yongxing County Overseas Chinese Association, the Party Committee and Government of Huangni Town, and the Party Branch Committee and Villagers Committee of Dongze Village. A total of more than 40,000 yuan (6,190.70 US dollars) was raised and 18 tons of supplies such as pumpkins, winter melons and rice were purchased.

 

 

 

Yuan Mouwen, a National Model Worker and staff member of Wulingyuan Scenic and Historic Interest Area and National Forest Park Administration, was overwhelmed with gratitude when he saw these donated supplies. He said, "Thank you, Chenzhou people! The people of Zhangjiajie will always remember what you have done for us in difficult times!"
