I.Negative nucleic acid test result required for entry into Chenzhou
Starting from 00:00 on August 6, all people entering Chenzhou City must hold a negative COVID-19 nucleic acid test result within 48 hours, and are also required to wear a mask, take body temperature, and check the Health Code and State Council’s Travel History Code.
II.Recommendations for personal protection
Citizens are advised to observe the following personal protective measures: do not leave Chenzhou City in the near future if not necessary; avoid visiting crowded and high-traffic places; carry masks and wear them properly at all times; wash hands regularly; ventilate frequently; keep a safe distance of one meter from others; cooperate with measures such as taking body temperature, checking Health Code and State Council’s Travel History Code, and verifying proof of nuclear acid testing.
In addition, the public should pay close attention to their personal and family health conditions and seek medical attention in a timely manner in case of abnormalities.
III.Alert for fast-spreading and damaging Delta variant
Further viral genome sequencing has found that all the strains in the recent resurgence of COVID-19 in China were the highly infectious Delta variant, which can contribute to a faster and wider transmission among a large population.
The viral loads in the Delta variant infections were also 1,260 times higher than in the infections caused by the original strain last year. Individuals infected with Delta take longer to turn negative and are more likely to develop severe and critical symptoms.
IV.Calls for COVID-19 vaccination
Vaccination is an important tool for the prevention and control of COVID-19. It is also the responsibility and duty of every citizen. The COVID-19 vaccines produced in China prove effective in preventing the Delta variant, with a prevention effect of more than 70% of the disease and more than 95% of the severe symptoms.
For the health of you and your family, people aged 12 years and above are encouraged to receive the COVID-19 vaccines as soon as possible.
