"Providing green and healthy food for the market is a matter of conscience while identifying harmful and harmless food is a technical task. To achieve better supervision needs not only technical support, but also wisdom," the head of the Market Supervision Bureau said.

The system is a platform established by the farmers' market operators. That is, some high-quality agricultural products are affixed with a special QR code so that the agricultural products have their own ID cards. As long as consumers scan the code, they can clearly know the production processes of the product, which is also a measure for farmers market operators to strengthen the entity responsibility for food safety.

In Suxianling Sub-district Suyuan Farmers' Market, staff of Market Supervision Bureau helped the managers and stall owners to use the system and improved their awareness of food safety by introduction of relevant laws and regulations, the entity body responsibility, daily management requirements, functions and usage of the tracing scale and the system, simulation test, and answering questions.

Edible agricultural products in the market are traceable through the system, which enables information management including product tracing and spot check, and improves the safety level of the products.

The tracing scale and system was put into trial operation in 2021, and have been applied in two farmers' markets in the Suxian District, with 92 product operators included. The little QR code is not only an ID card for a product, but also a passport into the circulation market.
