A few days ago, 17 house owners in the Building No.5 in Lianxi Community, Rucheng County, reported their problems to the County Housing and Urban-rural Construction Bureau, saying, “the water flow is not smooth due to the small roof downspout, so that the exterior wall decoration is likely to be washed away and fall. It needs renovation.”
The Bureau immediately organized professionals to visit the site and find out solutions. The old facilities were dismantled and new drainage pipes were installed, the exterior decorations were also reinforced, eliminating the potential safety hazards.
There are 158 old and dilapidated communities in the county. Rucheng County involved the residents, the government, related departments and companies as well as community together to better solve the problem of dilapidated communities.
Residents list the problems, the government makes renovation plans, and then the related departments and companies shoulder their parts in solving the problems. Finally, the community manage the problem through self-governance and co-governance.
As for now, the county has invested a total of 317 million yuan to renovate 36 old and dilapidated communities for 3,575 residents. 38 communities are under renovation now.
With repainted walls, new signs for buildings in the community, garbage classification, underground parking lots, filled potholes, new family facilities, new entertainment and exercise equipment, the Jiutangjiang community after renovation has taken on a new look.
Residents can enjoy the flowers and greenery in the community while hearing birds singing and smelling the fragrance of flowers.
