Liyutang Town boasts more than 4942.11-acre double-season rice planting area, so it is literally a “granary” in Chenzhou City and also a key production base of “Golden Carp”—a high-quality rice brand.

 

To enhance agricultural brands, control of rice pests and the safety and quality of agricultural products, Yongxing County Agriculture and Rural Bureau has been vigorously promoting green control of rice pests, disease prevention and control products and relevant technologies, and has invested more than 300,000 yuan, with which 50 solar insecticidal lamps, 5,000 sets of chima borer attractants, 85,000 trichogramma egg cards and 1.24-ton free biological pesticides have been put in place.

 

 

Moreover, specialized control teams are organized to carry out unified prevention and control of rice pests at key points in order to achieve the maximum effects with minimum pesticides. 

 

Since the promotion of green prevention and control this year, the rice output of the demonstration area can increase by 30-50 kg; the times of pesticide spraying  will be reduced by 2-3 times throughout the year; the amount of pesticides will be reduced by 20-30% compared with that of previous years.
