Located in the central urban area of Zixing, the community of Jinxing Road has more than 10,000 residents. In recent years, relying on the community’s library and with the cultural station in the new era as the main venue, it has carried out many activities to encourage citizens to read, and build a “Community for Avid Readers”.

 

The community of Jinxing Road has created an atmosphere of “reading avidly” by setting up the cultural station in the new era and adding “hardware” facilities such as residents’ cultural center, community’s library, reading room and science education room. Through the distribution from superiors, community purchase, and donation by Party members and the masses, the reading resources have been constantly improved to meet the needs of residents.

 

There is also a reading area for children in the  community’s library, where many activities are carried out regularly, including “Reading Revolutionary Classics” and “Easy Reading”, with a view to cultivate children’s interest in reading.

 

 

At the same time, the community took the opportunity of building a “Civilized Community” and a “United Community” to widely mobilize and accept non-public people and outstanding talents to participate in community construction, work together to build public cultural infrastructure such as the library and reading room, and strive to build the “Community for Avid Readers”.

 

This activity is a microcosm for Tangdong Subdistrict, Zixing City to promote public culture and build a “Community for Avid Readers”. In recent years, all the communities and villages in Tangdong Subdistrict have collected at least 2,000 books in each library.

 

At the same time, the libraries have been equipped with chess, checkers and other entertainment instruments, so that residents who read books there can not only read books, but also play chess for amusement. Now, more and more residents enjoy reading in the community’s library to improve themselves.
