Recently, a folk culture and Hanfu-themed activity was carried out among primary students in Yutan School in Rucheng County, Chenzhou City. There was a Hanfu show, a Hanfu lecture, and a traditional hand-making and Rucheng’s unique folk activity.
In the morning, over 800 students and teachers wearing different styles of Han clothing wowed everyone present. Later on, a Hanfu show was staged with more than 40 little models wearing Han clothing.
At the Culture Square of the school, little narrators told the story of “The Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea” and “Sniper Warfare at Qingshi Village”. The special folk culture made students stop to watch and feel the unique charm of Rucheng.
In the afternoon, children learned to make traditional handicrafts, such as round fans, sachets and lanterns. Their creativity and ingenuity won applause from students and teachers.
“We hope to awaken our memory of traditional culture in this way, so that children can better understand traditional Chinese culture and be more confident about our culture,” said He Yao, a principal of the school.
