Chenzhou Office of River Chiefs has formulated a policy about management of cross-border rivers, which helps to build a river supervision network with clear rights and responsibilities, supervision, collaborative and comprehensive coverage. At present, the water control mechanism has been fully established in the Leishui River Basin including Suxian District, Zixing City and Yongxing County, the Chongling River Basin, including Linwu County, Jiahe County and Guiyang County, and the Yongle River Basin covering Zixing City, Yongxing County and Anren County.

 

Up to now, the city and county governments have jointly remedied 169 river related violations, completed the treatment of black and smelly water bodies in 9 prefecture-level urban areas, constructed 3 ship pollutant stations, drew a line between rivers with a basin area of more than 50 square kilometers, and protected and restored 105-mu (70,000 square meters) wetlands. In addition, Chenzhou City combines river control with regional tourism, characteristic agriculture, targeted poverty alleviation and beautiful rural construction.
