Recently, Zixing’s smart fishery administration supervision system began trial operation, realizing a new management mode.
To implement a 10-year fishing ban in the major waters of Zixing, the Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs invested 4.86 million yuan in establishing a smart fishery administration supervision system in April, 2021.
In the first phase, 8 monitoring cameras were placed on the existing signal towers of China Tower Hunan Branch in Dongjiang Lake, and live footage is transmitted to the monitoring center, which realizes real-time monitoring of key rivers and waters within the jurisdiction and provides strong technical support against illegal fishing.
At 20:00 on the night of the trial operation, the smart terminal suddenly issued a warning that suspected illegal fishing vessels were found in the waters of Bailang Town. Law enforcement officers rushed to the scene and arrested the suspects who had no time to put the tool and fish catches away, with the help of smart identification and precise positioning of the system. And the whole process was recorded by the system automatically.
The establishment of the system facilitates the transformation of fishery administration law enforcement from manpower to technical measures, improves the fine management of waters, and better protects fishery resources and biodiversity, creating a beautiful picture of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
