The Chongling National Wetland Park has recently been visited by flocks of adorable herons leisurely foraging for food on the shallow beach with their chirps echoing far and wide.
In recent years, Guiyang County has taken comprehensive measures against agricultural pollution and for high-standard environmental protection, which has fundamentally prevented water from being polluted by production and domestic wastewater.
The bird monitoring shows that the varieties of birds resting in the park has increased from the original dozens to nowadays’ 155 including more than 20 varieties of national class-II protected and rare birds such as mandarin ducks, grey cranes, Elanus caeruleuses, and Rostratula benghalensises.
Guiyang has recently been recognized as one of the third provincial demonstration counties of ecological construction with its continuous efforts in environmental protection. It will further endeavour to build a county of national ecological civilization.
