“Thanks to this platform, my sweet oranges were sold out quickly via livestreaming,” a villager called Liu Jie from Dayuan Village, Gaotingsi Town, Yongxing County, said. The platform he used is a livestream platform built by Chenzhou Unicom. He just sold out more than 50 kg of sweet oranges.
After the construction of “digital village” started this year, Chenzhou Unicom has signed cooperation agreements with the government units in Chenzhou City. It aims to help rural revitalization by further integrating the mode of “digital village, lighting project and industrial assistance”. Now, it has been launched in many towns such as Anping and Gaotingsi.
Liu Jie is just one that benefits from the platform. His family grows sweet oranges, tea oil trees and other agricultural products. Because agricultural products have relatively short shelf-life, they wouldn’t be sold if deteriorated. Now, he uses the “digital village” platform, as well as such online platforms as Taobao and Pinduoduo, to sell agricultural goods, with good sales as a result. He also helps his neighbors with the sale of their products.
This year, Chenzhou Unicom has been committed to exploring new models for the construction of “digital village” and rural revitalization, and promoting the innovative practice of rural industries. After the villagers have access to high-speed network and the “digital village” big data platform,
Chenzhou Unicom has also encouraged locals to cultivate local rural e-commerce and online celebrities via the platform. Various activities such as e-commerce marketing and cloud tourism were held to drive rural areas to develop digital economy, increase villagers’ income and help industrial development, so as to contribute to rural revitalization.
