Sunrise over Caoshan Mountain

Aerial photos taken on the early morning of December 6 show that the mist drifts over the rolling hills, the windmills spin and the deep grass swing in the wind, when the sun peeps out from behind the rocky peaks and its bright light suffuses the clouds around it.
This is Caoshan Mountain in the middle of Luoxiao Mountains, 28 kilometers from Guidong County. It is made up of hundreds of peaks, with the highest elevation of 1,876 meters, where the climate is humid.
There are luxuriant meadows all over the mountains, covering an area of more than 6,667 hectares, which is a rare high-quality natural grassland in the south.
Caoshan Mountain is home to China Huaneng’s wind farm, and the wind turbines stand on the hills. It not only creates a unique landscape, but also promotes the development of local new energy industry and ecological economy.
Meanwhile, Caoshan has been listed as an eco-tourism development site and become one of Guidong’s important tourist destinations. There is a tourist road winding its way up to the main hilltop, where the most attractive thing is to watch the spectacular sunrise.
