Huang Xi from Shanshushan Village in Jiangshui Township, Yizhang County builds the characteristic industry of brown sugar made by the the traditional method of sugar decocting.
Entering his brown sugar processing factory, you will first smell the pleasant sugar fragrance and then be impressed by the seven cauldrons lining in a row which is essential to decocting brown sugar. Mr. Huang said that the first cauldron is used for removing impurities of the sugarcane juice, the second and third ones for filtering residues, the fourth and fifth ones for preheating and the sixth and seventh ones for decocting sugar.
Huang Xi founded the Fengle Gufang Brown Sugar Co., Ltd. with a production line which can produce 2,000-tonne sugar annually in his hometown in 2017. To obtain the final quality brown sugar, sugarcanes will undergo 18 procedures.
The jarred brown sugar is quaint and highly preferred by the markets in regions like Hong Kong. Moreover, based on the operation mode of “Company Plus Base Plus Household”, Mr. Huang established his own sugarcane plant base, which creates jobs for more than 100 villagers.
Mr. Huang has full confidence about the enterprise’s future development. He is planning to add two more production lines for increasing productivity, boost the mainland market, and expand the sugar industrial chain to make a variety of leisure food out of brown sugar such as ginger-flavoured candy and rose-flavoured candy.
