Recently, the First Mountain Food and Culture Festival, as well as High-quality Mountain Agricultural Products Fair was held in Wugaishan Town, Suxian District, Chenzhou City.
“We aim to promote integration of agriculture and cultural tourism and make the festival into a featured tourism event to publicize characteristic Wugaishan Mountain, explore and inherit the local traditional food, and boost rural revitalization,” said Li Zhihua, party secretary of the town.
Wugaishan Mountain is 1,600 meters above sea level, with an average annual temperature of 17.8℃ and a large temperature difference between day and night. The unique geographical environment makes the fruits and vegetables produced here very sweet, which are widely favored by consumers.
“You can enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery and taste delicious food, which well caters to the appetite of us—the post-1990 generation. My trunk was filled with camellia oil, potatoes, dried fish and the like,” said a visitor from Zhuzhou.
“I have sold more than 1,000 kg cabbages within two hours,” said a villager who was busy weighing cabbages for a customer.
In recent years, Wugaishan Town has developed quality travelling routes for rural tourism and local produces, and created the industrial chain of characteristic products based on local natural resources.
Thanks to the support policy, It has expanded promotion to enhance the popularity of specialty brands such as Wugaishan dried sweet potato and Dakuishang bacon, and coordinated with production bases to turn the local produces into a new engine for rural revitalization.
