The Chenzhou-Guangdong-Shenzhen high-speed train bound for Yangtian Lake Grassland was opened on January 1, creating a new opportunity for Yangtianhu Yao Ethnic Town of Beihu District, Chenzhou City, to develop all-for-one tourism and build itself into a top tourist destination of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
In recent years, the town has adhered to green development and carried out comprehensive ecological restoration of the Yangtian Lake Grassland Scenic Area, including setting up protected areas, vegetation restoration, dredging and construction of the dam that can irrigate the grassland.
About 165,000 square meters of land was restored over a year and a farmers’ specialized cooperative was established to standardize horse management. The town demolished illegal buildings in the scenic area and enhanced support for major projects.
Since the town is adjacent to Beihu Airport, it has created a travel route between Beihu Airport and Yangtian Lake Grassland. And scenic areas like stone forest and ancient villages in Anyuan were scientifically developed through exploration and research of local history and culture.
Besides, Yangtianhu Yao Ethnic Town has excavated the heroes and revolutionary deeds that emerged in Yangtianhu during the Long March of the Red Army to build a red education demonstration base and inherit revolutionary genes in an effort to deepen integration of red tourism and ecological tourism.
Relying on the unique mountain grassland climate and good ecological environment, the town has been developing characteristic eco-agriculture like oyster mushroom planting, and high-quality homestay inns. At present, there are homestay inns covering 2,100 square meters in the surrounding of the Yangtian Lake Scenic Area, with demand exceeding supply in peak season.
