At the construction site of Dashi’an Reservoir, Huilongshan Yao Township, workers were busy reinforcing the reservoir. 

 

The construction of the reservoir was started in 1990, completed and put into trial operation in 1993. This reinforcement aims to repair the local damaged areas of dam slopes upstream and downstream, build new management cabins and flood control warehouses, and carry out termite control along the reservoir.

 

 

“Dashi’an reservoir is a small water conservancy project with comprehensive benefits such as flood control, irrigation and power generation. The designed irrigation area is 25.47 square kilometers and the actual irrigation area is 16 square kilometers.

 

After completion, it can ensure the farmland irrigation and the safety of people’s lives and property in Maoping and Gaopo villages,” said He Haihui, deputy director of the municipal water resources and hydropower service center. 

 

This year, the local department focuses on the maintenance and reinforcement of small reservoirs, the transformation of rural drinking water, the restoration of small water resources and so on. 

 

 

All 9 water conservancy projects in the city with a total investment of 64.75 million yuan will be completed this March. 

 

After completion, about 50.33 square kilometers of irrigation areas will be added or restored, 10 square kilometers of irrigation areas will be improved, and 1.33 square kilometers of waterlogging areas will be improved. The annual water supply capacity will be increased by 3.5 million cubic meters, and 11.4 million cubic meters of water will be saved every year, which will benefit 32,000 people.
