Thanks to China Telecom Chenzhou Branch’s efforts, the 5G network has covered underground mines of Shizhuyuan, through which staff are able to remotely operate the intelligent scooptram.

In fact, it is not a simple project to establish 5G network in the underground mine. Complicated environment brings great difficulties to wireless signal coverage, and the remote-controlled scooptram puts forward high requirements on the uplink super-large bandwidth, ultra-low time delay and network reliability.

The professional technicians at China Telecom Chenzhou Branch successfully completed the 5G network construction by on-site survey, optimized scheme, and scientific verification, laying a solid foundation for the 5G+ remote-controlled scooptram.

“Chenzhou Branch’s construction of the underground 5G network and 5G internal network underground and aboveground, which realizes the remote control of scooptram with ultra-low time delay, is the first of its kind in Hunan Province and even in southern China. It set a good example for mining enterprises in the country,” said Wu Feichao, director of Commercial Clients Department of Chenzhou Branch.

Chenzhou is rich in minerals, and there are some large-scale mining enterprises in the city. The customized 5G network of Shiziyuan presents a positive and practical demonstration for other mining enterprises in Chenzhou.

“In the next step, we will strengthen the field research of mining enterprises in Chenzhou and provide them with 5G solutions according to their situation and demand,” Wu Feichao said.
