Renovated Chenzhou Railway Station gears up for travel rush

The renovated Chenzhou Railway Station has well prepared for its first Spring Festival travel rush which started on January 17 with a new look.

Improved facilities
 
The new station building was put into use on November 8, 2021. It is 24.9 meters in height and covers an area of more than 8,600 square meters, with an architectural style of Qin and Han Dynasties.
 
In the railway station, areas that passengers often touch and crowded places have been disinfected. The waiting hall is clean and tidy, where passengers wear masks and wait in an orderly manner.
 
“The station is beautiful after renovation. Retro appearance, intelligent devices and facilities give us a new experience,” said a college student who just went out of the station.

The ticket hall has 3 service windows for ticket selling, refund and ticket changing, 1 for ticket selling and changing, 1 for the passengers in need, as well as 10 automatic ticket machines, which can meet the needs in peak periods. 
 
The entrance is set in the middle of the station building and equipped with 8 face recognition gates that allow passengers to pass with their ID cards. 
 
The waiting hall is situated next to the ticket hall and divided into two floors with 1,726 seats, where central air-conditioning, individual rooms for mothers and infants, soft-seat waiting room are available.
In the reconstruction of the station platform, 3 elevators and 10 escalators have been installed for passengers’ convenience.

“We usually take lots of luggage when we return home for the Spring Festival. Since there are elevators, we no longer need to carry heavy luggage up and down the stairs,” said a passenger. 
 
Party Member Service Team on duty 
 
To cope with the peak of passenger flow during the festival, Chenzhou Railway Station has made preparations in advance, while police at the station have also issued pamphlets for passengers to introduce safe travel, anti-theft and anti-fraud knowledge.
 
Cao Shunfang, secretary of Chenzhou Railway Station, said, “In view of the Spring Festival travel rush, we set up party member service teams to provide one-stop services such as inquiry, ticket booking and ticket purchase for passengers. The peak time for passengers before the Lunar New Year is expected to be from January 22 to January 31, and passengers mainly flow within the province. The peak time after the New Year is expected to last from February 1 to February 7.”
 
“It was the first time for me to take the train after the station was rebuilt, so I was not familiar with the environment. At first, I was afraid of missing the train, but finally I got on the train with their thorough services,” said an elderly lady.
 
Negative results of the nucleic acid test within 48 hours are required.
 
According to local anti-epidemic policy, from now until March 15, those travelling to Chenzhou from other provinces must provide negative results of nucleic acid tests taken in the 48 hours.

In response to the situation of epidemic prevention and control, Chenzhou Railway Station has made efforts to upgrade facilities, expand work teams, and strictly implement requirements on the sterilization of public venues, checking health code and body temperature, ensuring safe travel for passengers.
