Recently, local people in Zixing started to make glutinous rice cakes for the Chinese New Year, which are made of glutinous rice, rice and other ingredients. 

 

In Zixing, the glutinous rice cake is a traditional food for the Spring Festival and a symbol of good luck and harvest, showing people’s wishes that their life will be as sweet as glutinous rice cakes in the coming New Year.
