2nd Hunan National Games held from January to July

The 2nd “Healthy Hunan” National Games will be held in 14 cities and prefectures with various activities from January to July, according to a press conference held in January 24. The games involves three categories and 18 items. It strives to attract more than 1 million participants and more than ten million visitors. 

 

The national games is a comprehensive mass sports event with the largest scale and the highest specification in the province. The games is divided into competition items and characteristic activities. It is a grassroots sports event and is dominated by mass sports. Now, some activities of the games are being carried out, which will create a new sports craze in the province. 
 
There will be fitness sports, intelligence games and ball games, including 18 items like square dance, Tai Chi, Health Run, rope skipping, roller skating, broadcast gymnastics, basketball, soccer, Chinese chess and so on. 
 
As an important engine for accelerating the development of culture and sports industry, the national games will encourage people at all level to participate. 
 
Xiong Ni, party secretary of Hunan Sports Bureau, introduced that the games including auditions, qualification trials and finals will be held from January to July. Apart from awards for individual events at all levels, there are also awards such as the best competition organization award and sports morality award to comprehensively select the organization units of auditions, trials and finals. 
 
Based on big data, a comprehensive event service and management system integrating PC and mobile phones will be built to provide various services, including information release, registration, score inquiry and statistics. The masses are encouraged to participate in, discuss and share the national games, sports stories and typical characters on Douyin (TikTok), in an effort to bring more positive sports energy. 
 
The games will also bring various resources into the preparations, such as industry associations, social organizations, media and sports venues, to explore flexible competition modes. Hunan’s traditional culture, regional culture and folk culture will be integrated into the games.
 
“Sports plus” Strategy will be implemented to promote the integration and cross-border innovation between sports and tourism, health and other fields, so as to drive the transformation, upgrading, quality and efficiency of the sports industry.
