The former garrison site of the Fourth Red Army is located in Dongshui village, Pule town. It was built in the Qing dynasty with a two-story half timber house. It covers an area of about 3,270 square meters and a construction area of about 5,400 square meters. It’s an ancient residential building with western Hunan characteristics, including small courtyards, attics and more than 100 rooms. There are still many Red Army slogans in it. It’s an important place for the 28th regiment of the Fourth Red Army to carry out revolutionary activities in Dongshui village. 

 

 

Chen Qi’s former residence is located in Guangming village, Oujiang town, Guidong county. It was built in the Qing dynasty, with a two-story half timber house including three courtyards. The reserved building area is now 261 square meters. 

 

The former residence witnessed Chen Qi’s life, study and growth in childhood and adolescence. It also witnessed Chen Qi to lead the peasant movement in Guidong county and help build revolutionary base areas in Hunan-Jiangxi border area. 

 

 

It’s an important place to study Chen Qi’s life achievements and to carry out the education of patriotism and revolutionary traditions. 

 

The two selected units in the county are important modern historical sites and representative buildings and revolutionary cultural relics.

 

After being included in the list of cultural relics under the provincial-level protection, more efforts will be increased for their protection, which will contribute to the county’s endeavor to be a red classic inheritance area. 

 

Next, the local cultural tourism department will strengthen efforts to protect cultural relics, promote the rational utilization of cultural relics, further improve the protection and utilization level of cultural relics, and make the achievements more benefit the masses.
