The first village worthies hall was opened in Xiaobu Village, Baohe Yao Ethnic Township, Chenzhou city recently. Fang Jie, one of the worthies, said: “I donated my house as the hall, because I want to build a platform for us to serve our fellow villagers and make my due contribution to rural revitalization.”
The hall covers an area of about 100 square meters, with elegant Chinese styles. It collects various materials, such as Party history, the village’s history, ancient culture and prominent figures of the village.
Beihu District has focused on tapping the advantageous resources of able villagers for a long time, given full play to the advantages and roles of new able villagers in multiple aspects like social governance, rural civilization, pleasant living environment and public charity, encouraged local worthies to attract investment to develop rural areas, and guided able men from other places to invest in Beihu district.
In September last year, the district started to launch the project of new able villagers helping rural revitalization, and built three able villager pools (including locals, locals working outside and those coming to invest), helped solve 147 rural problems by using their resources, and introduced 18 industrial projects.
Next, there will be 6 halls or talent workstations to be opened in Beihu District, which will inspire more people to learn from the able villagers.
