Tian Donghui, head of the base said that the base has 380,000 mushroom bags and can yield 6 tons of oyster mushrooms a day which are sold to many places, with the sales volume increasing by 20% over the same period last year.

At present, it’s a critical period for spring farming. With regular anti-epidemic prevention measures, Beihu District is striving for the smooth progress of agricultural production in spring.

This year, the district will further strengthen incentives for agricultural production and give priority to agriculture-related projects and financial arrangements.

The local agricultural and rural authorities required agricultural enterprises to take measures to ensure production safety.

To ensure the quality and efficiency of agricultural production in spring, the local government provided training courses and individual guidance to improve the technical level of characteristic and advantageous industrial production, pollution-free vegetable planting, orchard management, pest control and so on.

Daxi Vegetable Professional Cooperative in Shigaitang Subdistrict is one of the vegetable bases that provide vegetables for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, with a vegetable planting area of 20 hectares.

Recently, the seedling cultivation work of the base was affected by the rain and snow weather. The agricultural technicians came to the base immediately and provided professional and technical guidance, greatly relieving the anxiety of the base owner.

Now, the second batch of 300,000 vegetable seedlings are growing well. Next, the base plans to cultivate 700,000 vegetable seedlings.

To ensure the smooth spring farming, relevant departments were organized to strengthen the supervision of agricultural material markets and severely crack down on the production and sales of fake and shoddy agricultural materials like seeds, fertilizers and farm chemicals.

Now, there were no unlicensed operation and quality problems of agricultural materials found.

While ensuring the supply and quality of agricultural materials, the district also sought ways to expand sales channels for agricultural products via e-commerce platforms.

Up to now, it has provided online technical training on making preparations for ploughing and sowing for more than 600 people, with more than 40 times of on-site technical guidance.
