With the temperature rising steadily, an oilseed rape base of more than 2,300 mu (about 153.3 hectares) is seeing the harvest season in Gaoze Planting and Breeding Cooperative, Jingui Town, Yongxing County.

Thanks to online promotion and offline sales, the fresh oilseed rape has become a best-selling product, bringing considerable income for local villagers.

In the vegetable base of the cooperative, workers are busy picking oilseed rapes which will be delivered to canteens of schools and enterprises, as well as farmers’ markets.

He Jinxiang, head of the cooperative, said the yield per mu can reach 550 kilograms due to the selected variety and fertilizer- and pesticide-free planting. Through livestreaming, their oilseed rapes are sold to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and other cities in the Pearl River Delta.

At present, the base sells more than 2,500 kilograms of oilseed rapes every day. In the mode of “cooperative + planting base + farmers”, each villager involved will receive more than 4,000 yuan.
