March 3 this year marks the 9th World Wildlife Day, when Xianghua School in Zixing City carried out theme activities to publicize conservation of biological diversity and relevant regulations and laws on wildlife protection, in a bid to raise its students’ and faculty’s awareness.
The concept of flagship species was introduced to students with the example of red-billed leiothrix. Students were also guided to observe camphor trees, podocarpus, black kites, Asian barred owlet and other protected species in the school and its surrounding area, to learn about knowledge of wildlife protection.
