Great efforts have been made in issuing thousands of copies of “Hunan regulations on the protection of water environment” and focusing on the legal compliance of environmental protection, especially some core steps like sewage discharge, the installation of lampblack purification facilities and the collection, transportation and disposal of garbage.

So far, 3 homestays, 13 farmhouses and six large-scale farms under the jurisdiction has been thoroughly investigated, and suggestions for more than 20 problems have been put forward, 7 of which have been rectified.

In order to improve the efficiency of rural pollution control, the Housing and Construction Bureau of Rucheng County took the initiative to do practical work such as introducing implementation plans, making reasonable arrangements to accelerate the construction of urban and rural sewage treatment systems in an all-round way.

Last year, 90% construction of four sewage treatment plants in three towns has been completed and this year the county has quickened its steps towards the construction of 3 township sewage treatment plants.

In addition, Rucheng County has promoted comprehensive supervision on daily work held local governments and regulatory departments accountable, conducted random inspection on both inspectors and enterprises, and encouraged the public to participate in patrol and inspection.
