In a community health center, the medical staff used the Covid-19 antigen detection kit to test the residents. 

 

This detection method can realize the on-site detection without any additional instruments and equipment, and the detection results can be obtained in 15 to 25 minutes. Thus, people can avoid crowd gathering without the need to go to hospital for detection. 

 

“Antigen detection is fast and easy to operate, which can help grassroots medical institutions quickly screen groups from risk areas and better play the role of ‘sentinel’ for epidemic prevention and control.” Kuang Haibing, director of the community health service center in Shigaitang Subdistrict, said that the use of antigen detection kits has greatly improved the efficiency of nucleic acid testing at the grassroots level. 

 

Xia Lehuan, director of the inspection center of Chenzhou Third Hospital, introduced that antigen detection can identify Covid-19 virus infectors as early as possible through testing so that the source can be traced and kept in control in a short time.

 

The antigen test kits can be used by those who have had fever or respiratory symptoms within five days, by those who are under quarantine and other residents who simply want to take a test. But nucleic acid testing remains the preferred method to determine the virus.

 

The district government purchased 10,000 Covid-19 antigen test kits, which will be sent to all traffic stations, community health service centers and township hospitals in the district.
