Silver promotes industrial tourism of Yongxing County

2022-03-27

Yongxing County, known as the silver capital of China, boasts a history of more than 300 years for silver smelting. In recent years, the county has developed a series of industrial cultural tourism projects and displayed more than 1,000 pieces of precious folk silver handicrafts in the Tang and Song dynasties. Meanwhile, the enterprises are encouraged to extend the industrial chain to develop exquisite silver products featuring traditional Chinese culture. This is how they can build a unique industrial tourism model and a state-level industrial tourism demonstration site.

During the development of industrial tourism, some enterprises in Yongxing County focus on releasing the charm of rare metals by showing visitors how they are produced. Visitors are attracted by a range of fashionable and practical silverware such as silver plate paintings, silver teapots inlaid with jade, and silver embossed wedding photos. Silver vases made by Sun Jingpo who take the initiative to combine the techniques of cloisonne, blue and white painting and enamel painting with silver, were highly recognized at the first China-Africa Trade Expo and presented to heads of African countries as a national gift.

The county has also guided the enterprises to take advantage of e-commerce platforms such as Taobao and live streaming marketing to promote both sales and local industrial tourism. In the first two months of this year, it has received 130,000 tourists through online promotion and offline experience, with a year-on-year growth of 12.6%. Internet celebrities have attracted more than 10 million online fans, driving the online sales of silver products in the county to more than 100 million yuan.
