Smart devices help with forest fire prevention

A solar speaker pole for forest fire prevention says: “You are now in the key fire prevention area. Please don’t carry inflammable and explosive items on you. Smoking is prohibited to avoid the risk of forest fire….” It warns those who enter the mountain in Gaoyiling village, Feitianshan town, Suxian district.
Before and after the Tomb-Sweeping Day is a period for a high incidence of forest fire. To implement more efficient fire prevention measures and reduce natural disasters, the district government makes full use of a high-tech identification system to carry out all-round fire inspection in the district.
Apart from 6 smart poles, it also uses the early warning platform to carry out all-weather detection in 12 key forest areas such as Wugai Mountain Forest Farm.
“This platform can reduce labor costs and deal with the fire in time, especially at night. Some fire conditions at night will be reported to us through the thermal sensing camera,” an official of the forest fire prevention department of the district said.
The district government also strengthens forest patrol to ensure that various fire sources do not enter the mountain.
Now, it has set up 466 duty points, with 2,206 watchmen. 34,342 people entered the mountain after registration, with fireworks, paper money and candles carried on them taken away.
