A thousand mu (about 66.6 hectares) of orange flowers are in full bloom in Pingshan Village, Longhai Town. The white flower sea attracts many visitors and brings a new hope for rural revitalization.
The navel orange trees in the village were introduced in 2004, and more than 5,000 mu (about 333.3 hectares) of trees can bear fruit this year.
“This year, our village transferred 1,600 mu (about 106.6 hectares) of eucalyptus forest for planting fruit trees, which will increase villagers' income by more than 6,000 yuan and boost rural revitalization," said Duan Guiming, party secretary of the village.
Since the introduction of navel orange, Pingshan Village has adopted the mode of "cooperative + farmers" to develop characteristic industries based on local situation. Up to now, there are nearly 8,000 mu (about 533.3 hectares) of different kinds of oranges in the village.
