At the site, the fish fry were carefully transported from a “special truck” to the shore and dropped in bags. Those fish then ran vibrantly to a pool of clear water with shiny scales.

 

A total of 43,000 fish fry covering silver carp, grass carp and bighead were released into the Mangshan reservoir, which will effectively enrich the aquatic species and improve the ecological environment of the water area.

 

The funds for fish fry come from the ecological restoration compensation for three cases of ecological damage. From 2021 to 2022, the Procuratorate of Yizhang County handled two cases of illegal fishing and one case of illegal occupation of agricultural land. The offenders were required to repair the ecology damaged by them, and a total of 17,800 yuan was paid as compensation for ecological restoration. And these fines were all used to purchase the fish fry of this activity, which can not only combat crime but also protect the environment.
