The fourth Brand and Quality Online Shopping Festival and Quality African Products Online Shopping Festival were launched in Hunan on April 28.
At the launching ceremony, Chinese and African live streamers promoted popular African products via video links. A Hand-ground African coffee competition and a promotion activity of African brand warehouse experience store were kicked off simultaneously.
The shopping festival is hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and other appropriate departments. Hunan events of the festival are held based on the national-level platforms of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo and the Pilot Zone for In-depth China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation. These events aim to promote African countries’ signature products to China and facilitate local economic and trade cooperation featuring Silk Road e-commerce.
More than 230 African products including Kenya's black tea, Rwanda's chili sauce, Ethiopia's coffee, South Africa’s red wine, and Ghana’s chocolate are promoted. At the live streaming rooms, consumers can take cloud tours to places of origin of high-quality African products, so as to learn about production manufacturing and experience folk customs.
The shopping festival will last till May 12. Following the principle of “government-led, enterprises-dominated, and market-oriented”, the festival features promotional activities that are held on quality e-commerce platforms and organized by enterprises.
At the launching ceremony, Hunan Gaoqiao Grand Market signed strategic cooperation agreements on marketing African products with platforms including Better Life Mall, and inked a strategic cooperation agreement with Hunan Lushan Trade Company on building an African youth practice base. This will help promote African products to Hunan.
