Loquats turn ripe and can be harvested on the bank of Dongjiang Lake in Chukou Town, Zixing City. The tree brunches are covered with fruits, attracting many tourists.

Fruit farmers are busy in sorting, weighing and packaging the newly-picked loquats, which will be sent to Changsha City, Guangdong Province, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and other areas.

Chukou Town has 1,013 mu (about 67.53 hectares) of loquats this year. It is estimated that more than 150 thousand kilograms of loquats can be harvested. It is now right the picking season. Every household can pick about 90 kilograms of loquats every day. The purchase price is 20 yuan per kilogram, while the market price is 36-50 yuan per kilogram.

In the next step, Zixing City will continue to develop the industry of “Dongjiang Lake Fruit”, contributing to rural revitalization.
