A few days ago, a gas station jointly operated by Guiyang Infrastructure Investment Sinopec Co., Ltd. began its trial operation in the Baishui Yao Township, Guiyang County, Chenzhou City.

“We had to go downhill for dozens of kilometers to get our cars refueled. It’s absolutely unsafe and inconvenient. With this newly-built gas station, we don’t have to go that far!” Villagers drove to the new gas station with great joy.

The construction of the gas station was not easy. The township is located in the northwest border of Guiyang and surrounded by mountains, with an average elevation of more than 800 meters. With the unfavorable location, large investment and slow process of return, no company was willing to construct a gas station in the township. Under the background, the local people had to go to the Tangshi Town, dozens of kilometers away, to refuel their vehicles, which cost a lot time and was risky in bad weather.

“In the past, we must go to the Tangshi Town to refuel our cars and take our gasoline buckets with us, which took more than two hours. Though we were clear that it was dangerous, we had no other choice,” a villager said.

In October 2021, Wu Chuhua, Party Secretary of Guiyang County, visited the township and found the inconvenience of villagers. Then Wu asked competent departments to deal with the problem for more than 20,000 people. Finally, a gas station, invested by Rongcheng Group and subsidized by the People’s Government of Guiyang County, was finished after six months of site selection, planning and construction.

The gas station, with a total investment of about 2 million yuan and a construction area of about 500 square meters, is equipped with two refueling machines to provide all kinds of petrol products of 92# gasoline and 0# diesel, which can meet the needs of the local people.
