E-commerce center and service stations help with bamboo shoots sale

The bamboo shoots are pushing through after the spring rain. Currently, an activity called Bamboo Shoots to Help Increase Farmers' Income is carried out by the E-commerce Public Service Center in the Project Executing Agency of Yizhang County Poverty Alleviation and Development Investment Co., Ltd., a project contractor of E-commerce in Rural Areas in Yizhang County.

With a combined operation of the e-commerce platform, livestreaming, short videos and e-commerce service stations in villages, such activities can help increase the agricultural income and rural revitalization. As a result, the quality bamboo shoots from Yizhang county will embrace a market nationwide.

“The bamboo shoots are good in taste, but we didn't make money from it because of the limited sale channels. This year, nearly 3,000 kg bamboo shoots were sold out by the e-commerce service station. The villagers can get an income and the elderly left behind also have work to do. Everyone is happy for that,” the head of the station said with a big smile while weighing the bamboo shoots picked by villagers.

Like Longtang village, the purchase of bamboo shoots is also carried out in the e-commerce service stations of many other villages, like Dongyuanshan Village and Tangxia Village.

With the warehousing and distribution center and the logistics service system built by the comprehensive demonstration project of E-commerce in Rural Areas, the service center could receive orders online and distribute them to different stations and those in charge would organize the harvest, selection, packaging and distribution. In this way, the sales of bamboo shoots have reached 10,000 kg in half a month.

This activity aims to explore a sustainable way (E-commerce center plus online shops/livestreaming plus rural logistics plus E-commerce service stations in rural areas plus villagers) to better introduce E-commerce into rural areas.

Now, the online shops in E-commerce center receive orders by marketing and pre-sales at first, and the service stations in different villages collect products, and then the products would be delivered to the warehousing center, waiting for packaging and distribution (A big station could take charge of the packaging and distribution by itself).

Such a new pattern could ensure a stable redeployment, quality, price and distribution, making full play of the pivot role of the E-commerce center. It can also further promote E-commerce's role in helping the agricultural development in a long term by unleashing the potentials in E-commerce entrepreneurship and increasing the sales of produce and people's income.

The E-commerce center in Yizhang County provides targeted service for people according to their needs, which is a valuable experience and a new way to increase the sales of produce and people's income.

Next, the E-commerce center will further develop its operation system, create a sales platform for the poor and help them sell out the bamboo shoots, black tea and other quality produce to the whole country. Such an activity is also an impetus for the poverty alleviation and moderate prosperity in Yizhang County.
