This year, Hunan’s rapeseed harvest area has expanded compared with last year, and the yield per mu in the main planting areas has increased significantly. 

 

Dongting Lake Area is one of the traditional advantageous areas for rape planting in the province. 

 

As a large rapeseed production county, Anxiang County in Changde City increased the rapeseed production area to 632,000 mu (about 42,133 hectares), and now the rapeseed harvest has been basically completed. 

 

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hunan Province, this year, the rapeseed harvest area in the province exceeded 1.4 million hectares, an increase of 1.035 million mu (69,000 hectares) over last year. 

 

The pilot task of 2.2 million mu (about 146,667 hectares) of rapeseed and rice rotation was successfully completed, and the average yield of rapeseed in the pilot area reached 140 kg per mu.
