Recently, 48-year-old Chen Huahe from Shankou Village, Pailou Township, Anren County, Chenzhou found a part-time job, which can bring her more than 3,000 yuan a month.
Last year, Chen’s husband was bedridden at home due to illness. To take better care of her husband, Chen Huahe quit her job and returned home. As her husband’s condition is getting worse and the two children need money for schooling, her family live a poor life.
Chen Huahe heard the news that there was a rural revitalization workshop in the village when she was at a loss, which could provide a post with flexible working hours. She immediately decided to try it.
Chen is now seeing a better life ahead of them through her hard work of a few months. The village cadres also helped her apply for some subsidies to help her family.
There are more than 40 villagers like Chen Huahe in the workshop. To ensure their living expenses, they are given priority to work. However, there are still some villagers in urgent need of employment, so a new factory is under construction.
“The factory was started in April this year, and will be put into operation in July, which will provide more than 120 job opportunities for villagers,” Lu Liangchu, the village secretary said proudly.
In Pailou Township, most of the workers in the workshop are elderly villagers. On weekdays, people over 60 years old can often be seen working there to support their families.
Without large investment and high-tech production equipment, there are more than 20 rural workshops in Pailou Township, with 40 to 50 workers in each workshop.
The villagers have flexible working hours here, and their income depends on their proficiency. It’s a good place for villagers who want to work near their home.
